Homemade Ginger & Turmeric Shots in 10-Minutes ~ Recipe

Both ginger and turmeric have been used for centuries to support immunity and aid digestion. When combined, they make one of the most potent daily rituals you can build into your morning.

Especially in summer, when I appreciate a fresh shot to wake me up in the morning, I love to have a batch always available in the fridge. It’s a seasonal morning ritual.

These little shots back a punch 🤯

They'll wake you up, warm you through, and deliver a concentrated hit of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory goodness in a single sip.

How to Make Ginger & Turmeric Shots at Home

you’ll need:

  • 2 handfuls of ginger

  • 1 handful of Turmeric

  • 1 lemon

  • 2 apples

  • A glug of raw, organic apple cider vinegar (or fire cider if you have it)

  • Juicer, or stick blender and cheesecloth - which is the method I use.

A simple recipe for a powerful daily habit…

1 | Chop

Chop the ginger and apples into rough chunks, around 2cm square. The turmeric usually comes in small knobbly pieces already, so no need to chop that. Leave the lemon whole for now — you'll juice it in the next step.

2 | Mix

Add the ginger, turmeric, and apples to your blender, or a large jug if you're using a stick blender. Squeeze in the juice of the lemon, and add a generous glug of your apple cider vinegar.

3 | Blend

Blend until smooth.

If you're using a stick blender, once you're happy with the consistency, set a sieve over a bowl and line it with cheesecloth. Pour the mixture through, then gather the cloth and squeeze out as much juice as you can. You only want to be left with just the dry pulp, which can go straight on the compost.

4 | storage

Pour into a Kilner jar or similar and keep in the fridge for up to 10 days.

5 | your morning ritual

Each morning, take a shot of your ginger and turmeric mixture. It's a small, made-with-care ritual that sets the tone for the whole day. 💥
